Mission Statement

At the Mennonite New Life Centre, we provide a holistic, client-oriented approach to settlement and integration, both short-term and long-term, for newcomers to Canada. We offer newcomers a wide range of services to help them adjust in a positive way to their new life in Canada.

Objectives

  1. To meet the basic physical needs of newcomers: food, shelter, and hospitality.
  2. To assist and advocate for newcomers with a wide range of immigration and settlement needs, such as translation and interpretation, immigration-related applications and assistance in family reunification.
  3. To provide educational services, such as orientation to Canada, language instruction, life skills training and employment training.
  4. To provide emotional support such as counselling and support groups for those experiencing long term difficulties in adjusting to Canadian society, whether it be because of culture shock or because of trauma shock
