Relationships are the heart of the Mennonite
New Life Centre. Every day, we meet courageous and gifted people
from around the world who have left family and friends, homes
and jobs behind in order to make a new life in Canada. Some
leave home suddenly, fleeing violence and war. Others make
careful plans for their future, but encounter unexpected challenges
upon arrival in Canada. We walk with our clients in their struggle
to build a new life, celebrating their successes and working
with them to overcome barriers. Their courage and determination
inspires us and gives meaning to our work. At the same time,
their pain and their struggles move us to challenge unjust
policies and practices that stand in the way of newcomer settlement
and integration.
