Emotional Integration and Support Program

At the Mennonite New Life Centre, we understand that it is not easy to leave behind family and friends, jobs and recognition, a familiar culture and landscape. Moments of grief, loneliness, disappointment, frustration, and anger are a normal part of saying goodbye to the old and making a new life in Canada. Our Emotional Integration and Support Program offers newcomers support in grieving their losses, managing their emotions, and building hope. You are not alone.

Art Therapy

Are you feeling lonely, sad, or depressed? Our art therapy program will help you to express your emotions and find new hope. Participants choose from a variety of art materials to create a drawing, painting or simple sculpture. Those who wish to may talk about their art, sharing the stories and feelings behind it. The art therapist facilitates group discussion and encourages participants to discover their inner strength. Group participants encourage and support each other. Many become friends. Art therapy is a safe place to grieve losses, share frustrations, and know that you are not alone.

A six week art therapy session is offered twice a year.
