Program Emotional Intelligence for Children

EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE FOR CHILDREN

A training program in Spanish for children ages 8 to 12

This program uses group activities and games to improve communication skills and abilities of children, support them to problem solve conflict, manage their emotions and promote values such as respect, solidarity and cooperation.

Parents will receive orientation during the program to work with their children to strengthen learning of these techniques and maintain good coordination between school and home settings.  Emotional Intelligence abilities will ensure positive socialization of children and success in various life situations. 

Program Starts: Wednesday, March 20 2013

Dates: March 20 to May 8, 2013

Bridge Training Program is Recruiting Students

Pathways to Employment in Canadian Mental Health:
Bridge Training for Internationally Trained Psychologists and Allied Mental Health Professionals

Pathways to Employment in Canadian Mental Health is a program that integrates academic training for mental health practice in Ontario, occupation-specific language and workplace communication, and supervised clinical training that provides meaningful Canadian work experience. This program combines the requirements of employers seeking skilled staff and the desire of internationally educated professionals seeking a rapid and effective integration into Canadian workplaces.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Internationally trained professionals
  • A minimum of two years of direct work experience in clinical psychotherapy /clinical counselling /community mental health work
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in psychology or a related field, where a significant component is clinical psychology (for ex. counselling, education, social work, medicine, divinity). Individuals with degrees from Canada or the USA are not eligible
  • Canadian Language Benchmark level of 7/8 or better (CLB ELTPA Score 7, TOEFL 80, IELTS 6.5)
  • Highly motivated and able to commit. Program runs ten months, full-time

The sixth cohort will start classes on April 8, 2013. Deadline for applications is March 11.

We will be hosting an Information Session on Thursday, February 7, 6:00 pm at the North York office located: 2737 Keele Street, Unit 9
